Negrini Two Gun Ultralight Case

By: David Draper

A fine double gun demands a quality case that not only protects the gun during travel but also exhibits the same style and class as its contents.

Negrini ABS cases accomplish this, with the added advantage of incorporating modern materials for lighter weight and advanced protection.

Double-gun cases are often made of wood or have wooden dividers. According to Negrini, wood cases, while classic, can absorb moisture from the air that is then released into the interior of the case, threatening a firearm with rust and corrosion. Negrini cases prevent this with double-wall ABS plastic construction. The rubberized plastic is not only impermeable to water, but it also has a high shock-absorbing rating. Plush cotton and acrylic interior fabric with polyester foam further protects each case’s contents. Fully approved for airline travel, these cases feature triple security, with three combination locks and reinforced hinges, all of which are forged from hardened steel.

A variety of styles and models are available, with custom-like options as far as exterior/interior colors and trim. I got my hands on a 2 Gun Case from the Luxury series (Model 1670LX). It features Negrini’s 2 Gun Ultralight ABS Shotgun Case. a beautiful British green exterior with tan leather trim and brown fabric interior. It is extremely light, at 8H pounds empty, and measures a compact 31H” (l) x 11H” (w) x 5″ (h). This is a great case for the traveling sportsman who carries two guns, as the case will accommodate a double-barrel shotgun in both the body and lid and has a full, rigid divider separating the two. Both barrel slots will accommodate a set of O/U or side-by-side barrels up to 30″ long. Wide hook-and-loop strips secure the stocks in place. Price: starts at $399.
