SHOOTING TIPS
Learn to Compete

“Your mind will take the shape of what you frequently hold in thought, for the human spirit is colored by such impressions.” – Marcus Aurelius.

Our thoughts and beliefs shape our character and influence our Outcomes. If we constantly think negative thoughts while out on the sporting clays course, we will develop a negative outlook. On the other hand, if we focus on positive processes, and being present, we will have a higher likelihood of finishing the round with a smile.

While competing, be mindful of your thoughts and self awareness. Give yourself a temperature check after every station. Well, not literally hahaha, but do try and look at yourself from a 100 foot lens. Is your chin up? Are your shoulders still up? Continue no matter what to cultivate positive thinking patterns throughout your round. This is a constant reminder that we have the power to shape our round one shot at a time by controlling our thoughts and beliefs.

This is not easy. Learning to compete is one of the biggest challenges in the clay target sports. As we know though, nothing of value ever came easy.

Have fun, enjoy the journey, compete and never, ever give up.

Keep Hammering,
